Avanos Turkey

The village of Avanos is located on the banks of the Kizilirmak the famous Red River. The city is about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Goreme. Avanos has a center that offers all the usual, modern, oriented amenities offered to tourism Hamam (Turkish Bano). A street market comes to Avanos every Friday so we suggest you visit Avanos on Fridays. This market of tents has everything for the house, clothes, fruits and vegetables and more. From the outskirts you can appreciate the village of Avanos winds the hills that moved away from the city and is a labyrinth of beautiful stone houses, some restored, some were converted and some sadly left to their fate. In some of the abandoned houses the characteristics of traditional Ottoman architecture can be seen along with ancient decorations, ornaments and wall paintings.
